You are a copywriter, but can you help us with design?

I don't pretend to be a designer - very few copywriters also have in-depth design skills but:
a) I know some talented people who are terrific designers and I can work with them on your behalf
b) I do have a good eye, so I can help you with the initial concepts and can help you with your designer's brief if you wish

 

Is there any sort of copy you don't write?

I don't write on-the-page advertising or radio jingles

Do you meet with clients?

I am based on the Lancashire Yorkshire border, not far from Manchester. But with copywriting, it's not usually necessary to meet clients. In fact I seem to do more copywriting work with companies in the Midlands. Electronic communications via email and phone work very well. Most of my overseas clients have never met me - they still send Christmas cards though.

 

How do I brief a copywriter?

How will I receive my content?

What happens if I want to make changes to the copy?

No problem. The first draft is just that. Revisions are included in the initial fee, provided they are requested within 30 days.

 

What if I don't like what you produce?

You don't pay. This has never happened in the 20-odd years I have been a freelance copywriter

 

Do you only work for UK clients?

No, I have worked for clients in mainland Europe, Israel, South Africa and have longstanding clients in the USA. Most are in the UK though.

 

How closely will you work with my website designer or design agency?

In partnership; that's the only way to get a good marriage between design and copy. If they are professionals too, they will be used to working with freelance copywriters like me.

 

Do you do more than copywriting?
